Membership
The Exeter Branch of the Devon Beekeepers Association has 163 members and is looking forward to increasing the membership.
The branch is run by volunteers and recognises that a major part of its existance is to give mutual support and training for healthy and safe Honey Bee beekeeping. All this whilst encouraging enjoyment of the hobby, pollination of the flora and agricultural crops and of course a supply of honey.
The branch organises local events such as honey shows, lectures, apiary meetings, and tuition for beginners and improvers. we organise certain bulk purchases such as honey jars and an apiary from which nucs and queens can be obtained by members.
Being a member or the Exeter Branch means that you are a member of the Devon Beekeepers Assiociation which entitles members to attend any branch meeting in the county giving members a much wider range of activities in which to participate.
Branch membership is drawn mainly from the Exeter area and its immediate surroundings but geography is no restriction to membership of our branch. Our summer meetings take place in the Apiary and our winter meetings and lectures generally take place in the Sylvania Community Hall, Mincinglake Country Park, off Stoke Hill, Exeter EX4 7DR.
Non-members are always welcome to come and see what it is all about but insurance restricts this to two visits before membership must be taken out.
The Branch has close links with surrounding branches of the the British Beekeeping Association and members from other branches are always welcome.
