Welcome to the Fareham and District Beekeepers' Association (FDBKA)
We are a predominantly urban group of beekeepers numbering 43 Registered, Partner and Country members and now in our 92nd year (2010). We are affiliated to Hampshire Beekeepers Association and the British Beekeepers Association. We have monthly meetings outdoors in the spring and summer when we hold apiary meetings, and indoor meetings in autumn and winter in Stubbington, when we have special guest speakers on all different bee related topics.
We also run a Training and Educational Apiary at Manor farm, Burseldon, where we held a Honey and Bee weekend last September which was a fantastic weekend for all, details of this are posted on the Apiary link page.
We openly encourage and welcome newcomers to join us. We are also happy to invite members of the public who may have a fear of bees or people who really want to know a little more about bee's and bee keeping along to one of our apiary meetings. We will loan you a bee suit and gloves (limited numbers depending on the meeting) if you wish to know more please email David using the Info@fdbka.co.uk address.
If you wish to learn more please visit our home website, you will find a lot more current and up to date information about us, joining as a member, swarms and a lot more.
