Membership and other Queries
Individual membership for the year 1st October 2011 to 30th September 2012 is £25.00 for the year. There is also a partner membership(£20) which is a discount for partners living at the same address as a full member. Many branches provide a social membership for those who have an interest in bees and wish to attend meetings without having access to the full benefits of the Association. There is also a reduction for those aged 21 years and under which is our Junior membership(£12).
The membership fee includes –
Bee Disease Insurance (B.D.I.) for 3 colonies. See the BBKA website britishbee.org.uk for full BDI information, and prices for larger number of colonies.
Public Liability and Product Liability Insurance. See the BBKA website britishbee.org.uk for more details.
The GBKA produces a Quarterly Bulletin and a Year Book for all of its full paid members, and the BBKA produces a Newsletter 12 times a year (one every month) which are distributed free to all members. Some branches also offer a subscription, at a reduced rate, to ‘Beecraft’, which is a monthly bee magazine produced for the BBKA and has articles for beekeepers of all ages and experience.
