Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Lincolnshire Beekeepers' Association uses any personal information we collect about you and how you can limit our use of your data.
The Data We Collect And How We Collect It
We collect names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses of members and any prospective members. This information is collected from details as given by members on membership forms and BDI forms.
The Purposes For Which We Hold Your Data and How We Share It
- Members' names addresses and telephone numbers are published annually in the Lincolnshire Beekeepers' Association Directory of Members which is distributed to all Full Members. Unless members advise the LBKA Membership Secretary to the contrary before 20th March each year it will be assumed that they are willing to have these details printed.
- Contact details will only be published on the LBKA website and the contact details of all LBKA Officers will only be given to members of the public with the consent of the member concerned.
- The information held and published is for members' use only, to facilitate communication within the Association and will generally not be divulged to third parties without the consent of the member concerned. Members should understand however that their contact details may be given to Officers of the National Bee Unit for the purposes of disease control and unless they give specific instructions to the Association Secretary to the contrary, their telephone number may be given to a member of the public for the purpose of swarm collection.
Storing This Data
These details are held electronically by the LBKA Membership Secretary, the Directory Compiler and on the register of members of the British Beekeepers' Association. The LBKA Secretary also holds email addresses for District and Committee Officers.
District and Committee Officers hold electronic records of those contact details plus email addresses relevant only to their own group.
Managing This Data
- All Information held by LBKA will be deleted after 6 years lapsed membership.
- Any member can see their contact details as published in the LBKA Directory and can apply to their District Secretary to see the contact details held about them electronically and to the LBKA Membership Secretary to see their details as held on the BBKA register.
- Members wishing to change any of their contact details should inform their District Membership Secretary/treasurer who will forward this information to the LBKA Membership Secretary on the appropriate form.
- Any updates to this Policy will be posted on the website and a copy will be sent to each District Secretary. Please check the website regularly for any changes to this Policy.
- All LBKA Officers will hold members' details as outlined above in a secure manner, on password protected computers and any paper copies will not be accessible to members of the general public.
- Members are advised that their old Directories should be disposed of with care, (burnt or shredded) and not simply binned or recycled as they contain personal information.
- As a small registered charity LBKA is exempt from registration with the Information Commissioner's Office.
