Smoker Fuel

What can you burn in your smoker?
1. Rotten wood – the best if you can find it, and if it is dry! Burns coolly and smells so sweet you’ll be sniffing it!
2. Cardboard – preferably corrugated, but this produces a lot of tar
3. Pine Cones – burn quite hot

History

The history of beekeeping is extremely long with evidence of it going back to 13,000 BC. Over the years obtaining products from bees has taken many forms, from honey hunting which still occurs in places like Nepal and Sri Lanka, to keeping colonies in clay pots/pipes, to skep beekeeping where the bees were killed to retrieve the honey, to the removal frame approach invented by Rev Langstroth in the 19th century that we still use today.

Cheshire Beekeepers Association is relatively new in this long history, being established in 1899.
