Rosa Bradley's Presentation

Rosa
Julian Cleeton, Peter Lead with Rosa Bradley

Julian Cleeton writes

You may recall at the AGM, I gave an illustrated talk on one of our longest serving members, Rosa Bradley. To recognise her devotion and service to the branch, it had been decided to make Rosa an honorary life member. It was also agreed that a cup bearing her name would be presented annually to the most promising young beekeeper.

On Thursday 19 January 2012, Peter Lead and myself went to Wyatt House, Paganhill, where Rosa is now a resident, to present her with the certificate and to show her the cup. Also present were her three sisters, Margaret, Olive, Sylvia and members of staff. For me it was a very poignant moment.
I have known Rosa for some twenty years. Many of us within this branch and beyond, have benefited from her wisdom and kindness. It seems so cruel that all her experience and knowledge of beekeeping is now locked inside her.
On behalf of Rosa, her sisters thanked us for the certificate, the cup and for our help and assistance over the past year.
