Social Membership (£10 a year)
Social membership is intended for new members who have not started keeping bees. It includes the following benefits.
- Free attendance at regular Branch Meetings.
- Access, for a further fee, to expert training and advice in a tailored training programme starting with classroom teaching and progressing to hands-on beekeeping at the branch apiary.
- Invaluable social and formal contact with other local beekeepers which will introduce you to beekeeping activities.
Junior Membership (£10 a year)
SBKA is just starting a Junior section. This is intended for young people under the age of 18 who would like to learn more about beekeeping. Junior membership will offer young people the opportunity to visit the apiary and be ‘hands-on’ with the bees. This will be under the strict supervision of experienced beekeepers. We are proposing to hold six after-school meetings at the apiary starting in April with additional meetings offering candle making, honey extraction and other skills.
Payment
Full membership subscriptions should be paid at the beginning of October. Social members can join at any time.
Please send your details and cheques made out to SBKA to Chris Hancock, The Ridge, Sandpits Lane, Westrip, Stroud, GL6 6EZ
