Annual Convention
A one day Beekeeping Convention is held annually at the beginning of the year. It is intended to suit all abilities and as well as the main lectures there is a choice of seminars to attend.
The 2012 event was held on Saturday 25th February at Lodge Hill Centre, Watersfield, Pulborough, RH20 1LZ.
Main Lecturers:-
Dinah Sweet, President of the Welsh Beekeepers - Swarming and How to Prevent it
Dr Ivor Davis, former President of the BBKA - Winter Preparation Begins Now
Dr Margaret Couvillon, Postdoctoral Researcher, Laboratory of Apiculture and Social Insects at Sussex University - Mechanisms of Guarding and Nestmate Recognition in Bees .
In addition delegates had a choice of seminars, choosing one from each session:-

The Convention was also be a great opportunity to stock up on equipment for the coming season. As usual Paynes Southdown Bee Farms offered a tremendous range of equipment and books.
