Introduction to beekeeping
A one week course, using the new LANTRA-accredited Award in Beekeeping, run by Bicton College in Devon
This is a week long introductory course and takes place in partnership with a local Honey Farm. There will be a significant emphasis on practical activities. Topics covered include
- Understand the interaction between Honey Bees and Flowering Plants
- The Natural History of the Honey Bee and the Colony
- Practical Beekeeping
- Pests, Diseases and Hygiene
- Health and Safety Awareness in Beekeeping
- Awareness of Food Safety in the collection of Honey
Cost is £300 per person.
