14. LIVE BEES Bees are to be exhibited in purpose-made observation hives. In a one day show nucleus box observation hives may be used. In a show extending more than one day bees must be able to fly at all times. The exhibits must contain ample stores to last the duration of the show. Exhibitors of observation hives must ensure that bees have a supply of water at all times. Observation hives will be judged equally for education merit as well as their contents. The Show Executive must ensure that either the Exhibitor or some other knowledgeable responsible person be in attendance at all times that the public are present. Nucleus hives for competition should be prepared in accordance with BBKA Leaflet No. B14. Exhibitors must ensure that all exhibit of live bees are healthy and free of notifiable diseases.
