Individual Membership UK renewal

Individual Membership of the BBKA is designed to accommodate those who are interested in furthering the objectives of the BBKA and accessing the benefits of such membership. We do always recommend membership through an association < which you can find here > over Individual Membership, as it is generally cheaper than joining direct and you can benefit from more localised support and advice.

All members receive a monthly copy of BBKA News, have access to leaflets and guidelines and information from the National Bee Unit; in addition, access to the Members area on the BBKA website.

Individual membership is open to anyone, subject to confirmation by the executive committee. UK beekeeping members are covered by the BBKA third party £10m public liability and product liability insurance – full details are on the BBKA website. As soon as you pay your membership you are entitled to this cover.

If you live in England or Wales, you can choose the option of Bee Disease Insurance coverage for your colonies.  Just select the number of colonies from the options list before adding to your basket. Please ensure all your hives are covered as under-declaration may invalidate the insurance.  We regret that as Scotland and Northern Ireland have differing levels of inspection which are not under the responsibility of DEFRA, we cannot offer Bee Disease Insurance.

You will receive a receipt for renewal of membership by email and this will serve as proof of membership.  Please note that your membership number will remain unchanged if renewing and that we no longer issue membership cards.
