Vacancies at Stoneleigh

We currently have one vacancy in our small team at the National Beekeeping Centre, Stoneleigh Park.

Would you like to be part of The British Beekeepers’ Association and contribute to an exciting future? Then we have the role for you as a Fundraising and Administrative assistant.

Established in 1874 the BBKA mission is to promote and further the craft of beekeeping and we are now actively developing projects to inform and educate the wider general public about the importance of bees and of the environments and habitats that they need to thrive in.

We are in the process of implementing a new website and database and you will assist with the delivery of excellent communications through print and digital media. Working as part of a small team you will need to multi task and manage diverse projects. This is a new role which has much to offer a recent graduate or second position.

So, join us, and you could be helping to fulfil current fundraising initiatives and also contributing to future income streams. We are developing work in schools and your marketing and administrative skills will be crucial to supporting this flagship activity for 2018.

You will also be required to research funding opportunities and to write grant applications to charitable trusts. We’ll also rely on you to support the work of the Income Generation Manager and attend BBKA events as required by the business.

As part of the role you will be required to maintain supporter records through our database and to create reports for trustees. You will be part of a small admin team in a busy office so flexibility and being a team player is crucial.

Essential to the role will be the communication skills necessary to liaise with a wide range of people the creative flair to source and present marketing and fundraising material in an effective way.

Experience of using social media in a professional capacity is important too, as is the ability to organise, prioritise and manage a challenging workload. Comfortable working within a team and flexible about working hours, you love using your initiative and are reliable and trustworthy when handling confidential information.

Office hours are Monday – Friday 9am-5pm with 30 minutes lunch (37.5 hours), 25 days' annual leave plus 8 public holidays.
