I am a retired sixty-one year old chartered accountant living with my wife, Catherine, and our chocolate Labrador, Conker, in North Somerset.  I ran a ten person chartered accountancy practice in Bristol for twenty five years and looked after a number of charities, both big and small, so I am au fait with charity accountancy.

I have shadowed Finance Director, Howard Poole, for the last year and am looking forward to working with the other trustees of the BBKA for the benefit of the membership.

I have been a beekeeper for four years and currently have two national hives in the back garden. I passed the Basic examination two years ago after completing the introductory course.

My interests, along with beekeeping, include walking (my wife and I are currently walking the Cotswold Way after completing the one hundred and seventy seven mile Offa’s Dyke path last year). Also bird watching, being a member of the RSPB, and we are lucky enough to have their Ham Wall reserve near us where we regularly go to watch the incredible starling murmurations.  I am a keen tennis player and regularly play for two club teams with mixed success! I am the social secretary at our local tennis club organising bingo nights, various functions and social tennis nights with fish and chips!  I follow Bristol Rugby club and often watch them when playing at Ashton Gate, although currently they are not performing so well!

I am very pleased and honoured to now be a trustee of the BBKA.
