When you Adopt a Beehive in the South East you will receive seasonal updates from beekeepers, Peter and the Hobbs family with your copy of Hive Talk
The Hobbs Family with their three children are all beekeepers so there is plenty of news all year round, and honey spinning time can be a very messy, but fun activity to report on! Although close to Reigate their bees are kept near fields where the family has to protect their honey bees from woodpecker attacks and other creatures from the wilds of Surrey.
Peter will be looking after between forty and fifty colonies at any one time, but always finds a moment from his busy time as a beekeeper to share news with us. Being both a joiner and a swarm officer he is much in demand for his experience and skills in handling feral bees found in funny places. Even after fifty years of beekeeping Peter says there’s something new to learn every day.
You will receive a gift pack which includes ‘Pocket Guide to the Honey Bee’ – packed full of interesting information and honey bee facts, a jar of honey, a packet of wildflower seeds, postcards, Burts Bees lip balm and discount voucher. We will then send you a copy of Hive Talk our seasonal newsletter and an update from your Adopt a Beehive beekeeper throughout the year.
We’ll despatch your welcome gift box as soon as possible so that you can sit back and enjoy your Armchair Beekeeping with Adopt a Beehive.
