Statement from the British Beekeepers' Association President, Anne Rowberry, on banned bee-killing pesticides.
Use of Neonicotinoids

The BBKA oppose the use of this pesticide and we need your support to pressure the Government to withdraw this derogation.
New BBKA Chair despairs at continuing permitted use of bee poisons

Stephen Barnes, newly elected chair of British Beekeeper Association, said " The Government has not followed the science. Permitting the use of this dangerous neonicotinoid pesticide puts all pollinators at risk."
New BBKA President says decision to allow neonic use on sugarbeet is distressing

The government has ignored the advice of its scientific advisors and allowed sugar beet farmers to use a banned bee-killing neonicotinoid pesticide in 2022. BBKA President says this decision will not just kill our bees now, but will affect them and the environment for several years to come .
