It is crucial all possible sightings are reported so experts can take quick and effective action to eradicate Asian Hornets. Please include an image wherever possible as written descriptions are much less effective. Without an image sightings are much less likely to be followed up. See it! Snap it! Send it! 'Asian hornet Watch' App The best way to report any sightings is via the 'Asian Hornet Watch' app. The home screen of the App allows users to check similar species and report a sighting. A photo is requested as key to identification. Date and location are auto completed and brief comments can be included. A reminder about personal safety is also included. Reporting can lead to investigation and nest destruction which is vital for eradication. Please ensure you include full location and contact details. When making a report a clear photo is very important in order for investigators to determine the insect seen. Online Form Use this link to access the online reporting form. Asian Hornet Monitoring Think you have seen an Asian Hornet in your area? Monitoring the environment for foraging hornets allows the NBU to identify if an Asian hornet nest may be present in a particular area. Frequent and widespread monitoring is needed throughout the UK to manage Asian hornet incursions. Members of the public can significantly contribute by monitoring for foraging hornets and reporting Asian hornet sightings.
