Calderstones​ ​School​ ​in​ ​Liverpool​ ​has​ ​been​ ​shortlisted​ ​for​ ​ECO​ ​School​ ​Project of​ ​the​ ​Year​ ​in​ ​the​ ​North​ ​West.

6 pupils at the school recently received the first Junior Beekeeping certificates under the BBKA’s (British Beekeepers Association) new School Scheme.

School beekeepers 

The school has established a wildflower meadow and they have hives keeping honeybees. Their beekeeping mentor is teacher Emma Turner-Bone.

The pupils are already selling honey from their first harvest and are busy making candles for school fairs.

The winners will be announced in a ceremony at Liverpool Cathedral on 17th November. The BBKA is thrilled that they are getting this recognition. -ends-
