The official opening of the National Apiary Garden at BBKA HQ Stoneleigh has taken place.

The ribbon on the gates into the garden was officially cut by the family of the late Jim Hopkins, the beekeeper whose generous legacy enabled this project to go ahead.

A tree planting ceremony was watched by past and present Presidents of the BBKA as well as members of the Hopkins family, current Trustees, BBKA staff and school visit volunteers.  Our patron, The Master of the Worshipful Company of Wax Chandlers, Anthony Bickmore, planted a tree to mark the Queen's Jubilee in the new apiary garden. 

This fantastic new facility has enabled the BBKA to invite schools to spend a day with us to learn, through discovery and creativity, about the importance of honeybees, pollinators, beekeeping and the environment.  Please click here for further details about our school visits.
