Bees in the Curriculum

Bees in the Curriculum

Everybody seems to care about bees these days but how much do we really know and understand?

Written for Key Stages 1 and 2, this teachers pack is a neat introduction to Bees and Minibeasts, Bee Products, The Beekeeper and Pollination.

The online pdf resources pack has three sections containing many usable worksheets. The headings are;

  • Understanding the world,
  • Science,
  • Science and the environment.

We have used scientific section headings for usability. This doesn’t mean a waggle dance could not be a PE lesson, or label design couldn’t become an art class!

This is a free resource and open to all, especially for schools.

If you would still like to become a member of the BBKA, please get in touch with your local branch/ association to become a schools member.

Please click on one of the topics below to get started!

Learn about bees with Winnie-the-Pooh so you can help them too!

The British Beekeepers' Association assisted with the creation of this lovely book.

There are many fun bee facts and top bee tips in this book, as well as a beautifully illustrated story about how Pooh and friends help their bees. It also includes a gorgeous double-sided poster to pop in your window, so you can help spread the important message to Help Our Bees!

“Winnie-the-Pooh is the perfect character to teach everyone about bees and how we can ALL help them. The BBKA is proud to have assisted Egmont Books with the making of this book." Anne Rowberry, The British Beekeepers' Association

Busy, Buzzy Bees

Bees are busy as

Busy can be

Bees are busier than

Busy old me

Bees are buzzy

As buzzy can be

We love busy, buzzy

Bees!

Beekeepers are often approached about winged, flying creatures, especially in the spring and summer period, when they are their most active simply working and are no cause for alarm. We can only help if they are honeybees.
