We offer a range of curriculum linked outdoor activities designed to engage children and give them the opportunity to participate in new experiences.  Learning outside the classroom helps to bring the curriculum to life and encourages children to fully engage with the activities on offer and connect with nature.  All outside learning takes place in our wonderful apiary garden giving children the chance to explore and learn in the great outdoors.

Bug Hotel:

Children can make a collective 'Bug Hotel' from a range of natural and recyclable materials. The completed 'Bug Hotel' can be taken back to school to be put in a suitable location and then monitored to see which bugs move in.

Throw and Grow Seed Bombs:

Make seed bombs for honey bees and pollinating insects. Take them home or throw-and-grow them in your school’s pollinator garden.

Seeds for Bees:

Create a newspaper ‘seed pot’, or plant up your recycled container or empty honey jar with nectar-rich, plant seeds for pollinators. Take them back to school and watch them grow!

Scavenger Nature Hunt:

What will you find?  Children can explore the apiary garden for bugs and wildlife.

Pond Dipping:

Hands-on experience where children explore the pond habitat to find which mini-beasts are living here.
