Wednesday the 3rd April from 7.30pm with Andy Pedley.

Andy was an Environmental Health Officer for 46 years and has been
a beekeeper for over 30 years. In this informative panel, Andy will be discussing the importance
of knowledge of Food Safety processes for beekeepers and providing advice on practical actions.

Introduction to Beekeeping Courses 2024

27th & 28th April and 4th & 5th May

Our 2-day course is one of the most comprehensive beginners' courses available, covering husbandry skills, bee disease and pests, siting apiaries, keeping bees in cities, products of the hive, components of the hive, beekeeping equipment, and hands-on sessions including making frames and inspection of hives (weather permitting).

This course is based on the British Beekeepers Association’s ‘Introduction to Beekeeping’ syllabus, but with a focus on keeping bees in an urban environment. It is designed to equip attendees with the basic skills and knowledge that they will need to 
keep their own bees safely and productively.

The course price includes 1 year’s complimentary LBKA membership and 1 year of mentoring with an experienced LBKA beekeeper.

Courses will be held at Brockwell Park, London, SE24 0NG.
